Personal Achievements

Dressage

British Dressage member, trainer and competitor.  Claire currently trains and competes her own and clients' horses at all levels, from Preliminary to Advanced.  In 2007 alone Claire has won numerous Qualifying Classes, with scores of up to 76%. Claire won the Petplan Area Festival at Novice Level, and gained a first place at the extremely competitive Regional Championships - being crowned Southern Regional Champion.  She then went on to compete at the British Dressage National Championships, and has already qualified for the British Dresssage Winter Championships 2008. Claire also qualified for the Hickstead Masters League finals, and competes in National Young Horse competitions and evaluations.Trained with French Olympic Rider Michel Assouline, and weekly lessons with top international rider and trainer Paul Hayler to ensure her own levels of riding and training continue to improve.

Showjumping

BSJA competitor on National Circuit.  Riding and competing clients' horses throughout the indoor and outdoor season at a variety of levels.

Claire predominantly trains junior and senior riders riders for BSJA competitons and qualifiers across the country. This includes travelling to shows with juniors and seniors, walking courses and instructing while clients' are warming up.

Combined Training and Eventing (BE)

Cambridge University Riding Team (2000-2003).  Competed in BUSA National Championship qualifiers whilst studying at Cambridge University. Riding of unfamiliar horses in Elementary level dressage tests and 3'9" showjumping rounds. 

Additionally, memeber of British Eventing - competing up to Intermediate level - including Poplar Park, Stanford Rivers, Stratford Hills, Ely Eventing Centre.

RAF Reserve Forces Eventing Team (2000-2003). At University Claire learnt to fly with the RAF University Air Squadron, whilst also riding for their National Eventing Team.  This involved dressage, cross country and showjumping training at the Defence Animal Centre in Melton Mowbray, in preparation for many National Reserve Forces 3 day Events.  During these competitions Claire competed unfamiliar horses over Intermediate BE  cross country courses and BSJA Foxhunter showjumping tracks.

Polo

Cambridge University Polo Team (2000-2004).  During this time Claire gained an insight into training and competing of low and medium goal polo ponies.  She played for Cambridge University in matches against Cambridge and Newmarket Polo Club (CNPC), Ascot Park Polo Club, Ashfields Polo Club and in the infamous Varsity Matches against Oxford!

Racing and Thoroughbred bloodstock

Riding out for a variety of Newmarket-based flat racing trainers.  This gave Claire a valuable insight into Thoroughbred training and production, as well as an understanding of the fittening and nutrition programmes required in top bloodstock production. She then went on to purchase her own thoroughbred mare and gelding, both of whom she successfully retrained for BE Eventing.
